Mood Beach & Restaurant Overview

The elevated beach front position of Mood Beach is outstanding, commanding panoramic views over the great bay of Palma, with the luxury yachts in the marina of Puerto Portals in closer focus. The welcome is warm, the atmosphere lively and exciting, the service caring and attentive, and the food ..... well, more of that later.
Mood Beach is a comfortable stroll from Portals and a short drive or taxi ride from anywhere in the Calvià district. There is plenty of parking available in the immediate area.
This is a stunning summer venue for a light lunch, traditional English afternoon tea or Sunday lunch, or à la carte dinner with live entertainment. Shady tables overlooking the swimming pool and the Mediterranean, open to the sea breezes, with the sound of the sea from below – the ambience at Mood Beach could hardly be improved on. There´s a quiet area with sunbeds for just relaxing, and a thatched beach bar area for those light meals between visits to the beach and sea.
Our visit was at the end of winter, on St. Valentine´s evening, so you might think we were seeing the restaurant at the worst time. Not so. In winter, or when the weather is poor, clear sided awnings are dropped and heaters are deployed to create cosy, comfortable spaces while retaining the wonderful views. Furnishings are modern and comfortable, with clean lines, while the lighting is soft and enhanced by candles.
My partner started our meal with fresh oysters, while I sampled the wild mushroom risotto with fresh truffles, which we both followed with gratin of asparagus and quails eggs with béarnaise sauce. All of these starter dishes were delicious, but the asparagus was outstanding. As it was a cold winter´s evening, we both chose the lamb shank for our main course. This had been slow cooked for a long time and was moist, succulent and full of flavour. The lamb was served with colcannon (how did they know I have Irish ancestry?) and baby vegetable broth. Desserts were announced with white chocolate and caviar, followed by strawberries and roses, both of which were loaded with flavours and cleared the palate beautifully, and the meal was rounded off with petit fours and coffee.
All of the dishes were beautifully presented on handsome tableware and accompanied by wines appropriate to the food. Because it was a set menu for Valentine´s, we had no opportunity to ¨spy¨ on any of the other dishes offered by Mood Beach. However, based on this meal, you are in for at treat!

    Great evening with Cristiano Ronaldo!!!

    Ian Austin from Esporles

A group of us went to Mood for their birthday celebration, and the icing on a wonderful cake was when the world's most expensive footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, dropped in.

    I Love Mood

    Stacey from Palma

Despite it's name, Mood Beach is a warm, inviting and stunning place to be in the winter too. The food is exceptional and unbelievable value for money. And the people make you feel very special. I would like to congratulate them for creating an enchanting place for us all to enjoy. P.S. The parking is spacious and on the doorstep which makes for a very relaxed evening from the beginning to the end.
