THB El Cid Overview

The THB El Cid Hotel is right on the seafront at the Ca'n Pastilla end of the longest beach on Mallorca, the 6 kilometre Playa de Palma. It's no more than 10 minutes from the airport, with easy walking access to local facilities, the famous Palma Aquarium and a wide range of bars, restaurants and places of entertainment. This resort hotel has recently been fully refurbished and offers relaxation and comfort only yards from the beach and sea. In fact, there are three swimming pools in the grounds - one is heated - so there's no need to leave the hotel if you prefer. This is a beachfront urban hotel, so there is always some degree of noise from local activities, the tourist train, and, depending on wind direction, the airport. On the plus side, there are always plenty of beach and water activities going on, such as parasailing, kiteboarding, dinghy racing, and much more.

THB El Cid Rooms

All 210 rooms and 6 suites offer sweeping views of the beautiful Bay of Palma, and are fully equipped with telephone, air conditioning, satellite television, mini-bar, safe, and a complete bathroom with hair dryer. Many guests talk favourably of the spacious balconies for each room. Cots and beds for children are available and should be booked in advance.

THB El Cid Restaurants & Bars

Comfortable and spacious bar which serves snacks during the day, and a very spacious lounge bar. The dining room serves buffet breakfast and buffet dinner, which is average quality but very good value.

THB El Cid Facilities

All the facilities you would expect in a four star hotel are available. However, although there are elevators, there seems to be no special emphasis on facilities for disabled guests - best to check with the hotel.

The El Cid Hotel

This is the second time we have stayed at the El Cid. We chose half board and the breakfasts were acceptable, there is a section where you can have omelettes and crepes cooked to your choice. The rooms are clean, a good size as was the bathroom and a good size balcony overlooking the sea and marina. The main reasons we like this hotel are the warm and friendly staff who make you feel very welcome and its location, overlooking the Playa de Palma, you are within walking distance to many bars and restaurants and amazing views across the bay.
