Agapanto

Agapanto Overview

As you walk down the steps to the entrance, Agapanto starts to work its magic on you. Calming, soothing, friendly are all words that come to mind as first impressions.
The restaurant and terrace look across the beautiful natural harbor at Port de Sóller from beach level at the South end of the bay, with the sea lapping gently just below, and the Tramuntana Mountains catching the eye above and behind. There is truly a harmony about Agapanto.
We visited Agapanto for lunch in late February and were met by the delightful Ana Maria Sturm, who clearly loves this place and what she is doing here. Her attitude is mirrored by the other staff, who are caring and attentive. The weather was mild and sunny enough to sit on the terrace, even at this time of the year. At night, the ambience of the setting is enhanced by the liberal use of candles.
The cuisine at Agapanto is broadly Mediterranean-Mallorquin, with a hint of Asian influences, and the restaurant offers à la carte as well as a range of set menus. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Special mention must be made of the sea bass, which was the freshest I’ve ever tasted and perfectly cooked – sea food is ordered and delivered daily from a local source.
Ana Maria is full of new ideas to enhance the Agapanto experience, and events such as art exhibitions, live music, paella cooking demonstrations and cocktail making courses are some of the regular features.

Agapanto

Camino del Faro 2 Port de Sóller 07108
  • map
  • directions
  • From virtually any direction, join the Ma-11 towards Sóller (if coming from Palma, this can be joined from the ring road Ma-20 at junction 5a). Just past the turn off to Bunyola, you can pay a small toll fee to pass through the tunnel, or take the longer, slower, but more picturesque route over the pass (more than 50 hairpin bends!). Either way, you will arrive at Sóller and should then follow the signs toward Port de Sóller. Shortly before the port (about 3 km from Sóller), turn left across the tram tracks towards the Repic beach (Platja d'en Repic). Find parking wherever you can, and walk the short distance to Agapanto at the left end of the beach.
